Sunday, January 26th -Performing in Church for Rev. Heather
Sunday, January 26th is Rev. Heather's last Sunday.
We're going to sing for her, to commemorate all the wonderful things that Heather has done with us over the years as the Youth Minister at Trinity. Some things that stick out in my memory are the sleepovers at church, overnight trips to Muskoka and Ottawa, March Break and Summer Camps, Santa Claus Parades and Gingerbread House decorating. Rev. Heather was very supportive in the creation of the Teen Choir and to me personally.
We're going to sing
1. Undignified (because even when we're running around the church in PJ's in the middle of the night, and eating weird things with our pancakes, we still feel that Heather understands and loves us)
2. Thankful (obvious, but I think it's "up to us" to point out obvious things to our elders too.)
3. You Raise Me Up (obvious too, plus Rev. Heather brings God to all the members of the congregation, sitting awhile with them when " troubles come and my heart burdened be", and in general facilitates God's raising us up)
We're meeting with Emanda at 9:45 so we can rehearse with her.
We're wearing our usual "uniform": blue jeans and black tops.
We're singing before and after the Covenanting, so we have an important role. Let's be sure to sing our best and make sure the messages of our songs go out and reach people, give them and Heather some smiles and maybe some tears too.
